Customer concentration

If hundreds of customers buy a product, nothing changes when one of them stops. But if a single customer buys it and that customer walks away, there is no other buyer for the stock on hand. VidiStock flags these products.

A class is assigned to every product from its sales by customer over the last 12 months:

Class Rule (default)
Single customer The largest customer’s share is 80% or more
Few customers The top three customers’ combined share is 80% or more
Broad Everything else
Unknown No sales with customer information

The thresholds can be changed on the Settings page.

It comes from the customer (customer code) column of the sales file, or from the ERP connector. Sales without a customer code (for example retail receipts) count as “unspecified” and stay in the denominator, so a product sold mainly at retail comes out as broad.

  • Filter: the customer concentration selector at the top of the order suggestions page and the three analysis pages. The selection is kept as you move between pages.
  • Columns: the class, the largest customer and its share, in the tables.
  • Product detail and order breakdown: the customer breakdown.
  • Alert: for a single-customer product, when the customer has not bought for 90 days or stock is in excess.
